Infant & Toddler Program

  • Shining Stars Staff

All of our staff has at least their 12 Early Childhood Development Units along with their CPR and First Aid Training. Our staffs also have been fingerprinted through “Live Scan” and have had background check through the State Licensing Agency.

    Infants & Toddler Program (6 Weeks – 24 Months)

    Nurturing Your Infants and Toddlers

Shining Stars Preschool and Infant Center accepts children as young as six weeks of age. Our infants are the pride of our school. They spend their day with a competent, well-trained, nurturing and loving teacher. In our infant center, a “Needs and Service Plan” is developed between the parents and the teachers to meet the child’s individual needs on sleeping, diapering and feeding. Food, bottles, and clothing are provided by parents and labeled at drop-off. Formula, breast milk and/or baby food is warmed in food and bottle warmers. They are labeled with each child’s name and kept separately.

Parents enjoy an “open door” policy which allows visits to the center at any time. This is particularly useful for nursing mothers who want the convenience of breast-feeding mid-day. Parents often comment on the variety of music being played for the children and notice that the children spend most of their time engaged with teachers.

As, we see our babies grow into toddlers and  develop their walking and movement skills they transition into our toddler area which starts to provide more activities such as; story time, art and a fun curriculum that balances both cognitive learning and individualism.

Shining Stars utilizes The Creative Curriculum to support infants and provide:

    • Individual care with daily written and verbal communication.
    • Development of a trusting relationship with responsiveness to individual needs.
    • Staff who possess a loving and attentive nature.
    • Each infant’s health, happiness and well being as our primary responsibility.
    • Caregivers are educated to provide for every stage of your infant’s development through
    • encouraging language acquisition, social interaction and physical growth.
    • Shining Stars provides families with a detailed written daily report for each infant/toddler and twice yearly written progress reports with parent-teacher conferences upon request.
