    Infants & Toddler Program (6 Weeks24 Months)

    Nurturing Your Infants and Toddlers

Shining Stars Preschool and Infant Center accepts children as young as six weeks of age. Our infants are the pride of our school. They spend their day with a competent, well-trained, nurturing and loving teacher. In our infant center, a “Needs and Service Plan” is developed between the parents and the teachers to meet the child’s individual needs on sleeping, diapering and feeding. Food, bottles, and clothing are provided by parents and labeled at drop-off. Formula, breast milk and/or baby food is warmed in food and bottle warmers. They are labeled with each child’s name and kept separately.

Parents enjoy an “open door” policy which allows visits to the center at any time. This is particularly useful for nursing mothers who want the convenience of breast-feeding mid-day. Parents often comment on the variety of music being played for the children and notice that the children spend most of their time engaged with teachers.

As, we see our babies grow into toddlers and  develop their walking and movement skills they transition into our toddler area which starts to provide more activities such as; story time, art and a fun curriculum that balances both cognitive learning and individualism.

Shining Stars utilizes The Creative Curriculum to support infants and provide:

    • Individual care with daily written and verbal communication.
    • Development of a trusting relationship with responsiveness to individual needs.
    • Staff who possess a loving and attentive nature.
    • Each infant’s health, happiness and well being as our primary responsibility.
    • Caregivers are educated to provide for every stage of your infant’s development through
encouraging language acquisition, social interaction and physical growth.
    • Shining Stars provides families with a detailed written daily report for each infant/toddler and twice yearly written progress reports with parent-teacher conferences upon request.

Twos Preschool Program (2-3 Year Olds)

    Twos are Big People

Working with two-year-olds is fast-paced and ever-changing. At this age their every experience is brand new and we are the ones who have the privilege of introducing them to the world. In a loving and nurturing environment, we encourage their desire for independence. We potty train them, teach them good hygiene habits, allow them to feed themselves and drink from a cup, and encourage them to speak and use good manners.

Children are provided with an age based fun curriculum. Creating imagination, individualism, social experiences and being nurtured by a loving, competent, and well-trained teacher. Many students master the names of colors, shapes, number concepts, the days of the week, words to quite a few songs, many letters and their phonetic sounds.

A toddler’s life is marked by rapid growth in language acquisition, self-sufficiency and social skills.

Our Shining Stars Twos Preschool Program is designed to:
